The very first
'Inimini' (though it wasn't called that
at the time) was created in the early 90's. A
friend of Bill's had gotten an inch scale
dollhouse as a project to work on in his spare
time. It was around Christmas time and Bill
decided that a 'little' something for the new
house would make a nice holiday gift. However, in
visiting local stores, he found that the quality
of the items available was generally
low while the prices were
outrageously high!
It wasn't long
before an idea popped into Bill's head: "I
could make that sort of thing... nicer and
cheaper!" And so he did...
It was a year or so before Bill started to market
his miniatures (now under the name
'Inimini') through a local craft fair in
Myrtle Beach and at a nearby miniature shop in
Murrells Inlet. He also would do 'special order'
items for patrons of the shop.
Now, several years
later Bill's miniatures are available at a
miniature shop in the Charleston, SC area and can be viewed on these web pages.
Each 'Inimini' is unique. Some (like the
"My Corner Of The World" room boxes) are one of a
kind items. Plaster items are cast in hand made
molds made from Bill's own original sculpture (an
example would be his "sleeping dog") and
therefore can not be found through any other
artist. Many of his pieces (particularly those
featuring food) are made using individually hand
made clay items. While there may be several of
these finished pieces available, no two will be
exactly alike.
Some of Bill's
work may feature 'purchased' parts, but his own
talents and creativity are always evident in the
final product.
