     The portability part of the crib is that (in normal use) you can remove the bottom and mattress pad and then fold the crib up for transporting and/or storage.


     Each end of the crib that I was working with had three hinge or pivot points (as shown above). One on each of the left and right (pivots) and the third down the center (hinges). This is what allowed it to collapse as indicated by the downward view to the right.

     Once the hinges and pivots were all removed I was left with six separate pieces: two sides and four end secions (as shown on the left).


     This much was all done the first year (2004) when I had a very specific use in mind for those four end pieces.
